Angie, Carrie's phone works to call out sometimes and hit and misses the calls in so I will tell her to call Matthew back today. I don't know about the web, but Guy saw them patching the levee by there house and then they panned around behind them last night and it was showing their neighborhood and all you could see was roof tops. I think the gift cards are the best idea. I bought Olivia a few things the other day and Carrie was like she doesn't need anything, but she took it anyway. We don't have a lot of the major department stores here as other areas do, so I don't know if I could go and gift the giftcards or what we should do. We went to the boardwalk yesterday and got Olivia some clothes for this winter about 5 or 6 outfits, Guy some t-shirts and shorts, and Carrie a pair of shorts. Not much but it helped her feelings to get out and shop a little. It was so nice that most of the stores if you showed them your I. D. They would give you a % discount. When we left to go shopping Guy told Carrie to get him some solid color t-shirts and he didn't care if she got them at Walgreens 6/$10.00 he is so crazy. When we went to Brookshires last night to pick up some bread and stuff they had some sleeveless t-shirts we couldn't find a price, but then we did and they were $5 -- to expensive on a tight budget for a joke. Everything is going okay, but they other night mom had mentioned a picture that she had done for Carrie that was left behind and Carrie had forgotten that she left it and just started balling. It was the baby shower invitation with the sugar dress off the cake framed in a shadow box type thing with the fabric in the room as the mat. Also, I just thought about another picture mom had framed it was a picture of Carrie and me on her wedding day with the hankerchief that I gave her on her wedding day with her new name on it and a palm tree. Oh well they are just memories now -- Mom told Carrie that she would get chef to make another dress -- and maybe I can get another hankerchief made too. Well that is all I can think of today Love Beth

Hey Beth,
I know this is so hard for you also. It's good that Carrie has ya'll. I will try to call Carrie also this week and send something your way for them. Have they applied for any aide?
Also, have they decided where they are going to live. We have a mobile Scout camper, (it's big), it has a bedroom, shower/bath and kitchen and living room area and we are offering to bring it up there so they can use until they decide what to do, will you tell her that for me ok. Also, guess what I went on ebay and found the exact same pooh in the box that I had given her at her shower, the one that was hers when she was little. So I won it and I'll be sending it to you to give to her soon. We have been working in some of the shelters over here, and it is so heart wrenching. Also some of the guys in Chris's units that are coming home next week have lost everything so they can't go back home, most of them have found their families but some have not. Can you imagine working in Baghdad all year and coming back to -0-. The army has offered housing in Ft Polk for them though. There was one mentally handicapped lady, that was crying to use the phone when I was there, so I kept asking her what is your mothers name? She just said, "my momma, my momma, I so worried about my people and my brover(brother)", (in a childlike voice). So I finally could understand her moms name and got my cell phone, called information and said I don't know if you can do this but all I have is a name and she is in Louisiana I think. So he found the residence and put me through, then I had the uncomfortable task and asking the person on the other line if they had a mentally handicapped person in their family, hmmm... (no name because I could not understand it from the little patient)They said yes and I said well she is here and wants to talk to her mom. So she got to talk to her momma and she was sooooo happy, she said, "my momma, my momma, I been cryin all day to talk to you. I worryin about you my momma." "I over here and they have lots of stuff here my momma." It was so funny.
I swear that was a miracle.
So I know it is going to be ok for Carrie and them and I am soooo glad they chose to leave.
luv and hugs,
Aunt Pam

That is so sweet of you to find that for her!!! She will be so excited and cry at the same time. I will not tell her until it gets here! Also is the camper a pull behind or a rv type?? Lots of friends have offered theres as well, but they don't have a way to move it around and were thinking about taking one there when they open it up to live in to clean up the stores until they find out were they are going from there!
