Tired...

I am just kind of delirious I think. I worked all day yesterday literally! I went in at 9 a.m. and worked until 5 then got in the car with some co-workers from another store and rode to Natchitoches to do some inventory and got home at 3 minutes to 1 a.m.!!! Why do I do these things? Luckily my boss let me have the day off though. Mason is ready to go and wants me to go get in the shower so we can go somewhere. He said, "Go get in shower Mommy" -- I said Mommy is tired right now. All the evacuees have moved East to my Daddy's, except Aunt Pam's family moved South to Lafayette. The Drama of Sunday was when there was no electricity and it go hot my Granny called and said somebody come get me I can't take it. So my cousin Shane brought her here and my Dad came and picked her up and took him to her house. Not much else, but that my child is soooooooooooooo bad -- terrible 2's = more like Psyco 2's. Someone else has taken over his body. Mom had him last night -- I kept telling her that he has gotten really bad lately and she didn't believe me === she told me this morning Beth he has gotten so bad - we have to do something. Hello -- I have been telling you that and asking for help with the kid!!!!!! Beating his butt doesn't work, time out doesn't work, I don't know what to do. Well my eyes are tired and I going to get my bath

Evacuee's everywhere I turn there are Evacuee's...

Thought my title was a little funny! Well Hurricane Katrina evacuee's are still here (Carrie, Guy, and Olivia) - now we Rita evacuee's are on their way!!!! My Aunt Cindy, Uncle John (her husband), Cousin Wayne, his son Cade, Cousin Shane, his wife Jamie, Uncle David, Aunt Pam, Cousin Chris, his wife Sarah, and their baby Jordan are all due here sometime tonight or tomorrow. It's gonna be cramped, but as long as there are safe it doesn't matter. We are going to have one big family reunion!!! But my stupid Granny and her husband are not coming up because she would rather die in a hurricane than be stuck in a car for 15 hours. My daddy said she has a suicide wish!!! Most ignorant thing I have heard so far. My Uncle David and Aunt Pam are pulling there motor home -- they could have rode in it to have a bathroom and lay down -- but nooo they would rather die. Anyway off that subject. I am excited to have everyone here and get to visit even if it is for a hurricane. It will be all of there first time to physically see Olivia.

Scott and I went to dinner tonight for our Anniversary tomorrow -- his assistant is going on vacation so we celebrated a day early. Carrie kept Mason for us and they had a good time. Well better get some rest == may get a phone call in the middle of the night needing directions. Love ya Beth

Effects of Katrina at Carrie's....

Well Carrie and Guy made it home.... to Mom's. They came home bearing pictures of there house. They were not supposed to get in, but they went to there area and asked a police officer if they could get in and he said you Want to see your business (shaking his head yes) right!! And they said Yeah!!! So they ran back to there car and drove in. The pictures they brought home said it didn't do it justice.. They were unbelievable. Everything is ruined! Some of the toys that were Carries were up on high shelves in Olivia's room they were safe, but other than that everything was ruined. Carrie has a few collective plates on the walls that can be washed and that is about it. The furniture was displaced all over the house. But weird stuff was still sitting in places like a picture frame was still sitting in the window in the kitchen. Crazy stuff like that -- but the refrigerator was laying in the floor. The couch was in the dining room and stuff that was in the dining room was in the sunroom -- total opposite side of the house. The ottoman that was in the living room was in the very back of the house. A Barbie doll that was in Olivia's room in the box was hung up out of the box in Olivia's bed that was upside down. On the chase lounge in her room her Madam Alexander doll was originally sitting on the back of it and it was still there never floated anywhere -- totally weird stuff. In Carrie's room the mattresses were lifted up and then put back on the bed lopsided. Guy threw his shoes and pants away in New Orleans and changed clothes because of all the mud and nasty stuff. Carrie said the smell was so bad that you could hardly breathe -- it reminded her of being inside a hot chicken house!!! I don't know but anyway. The upper cabinets in the kitchen fell off the wall. Plaster was peeling off the walls. Oh and the doors and windows to the house were all in tact so nothing structurally on the outer part of the house was messed up besides the deck and stuff -- as far as insurances is concerned though. Hopefully Bush will make them pay people. The detached garage is down the ally with a tree in it. All the doors into the house and in the house Guy had to kick in to get in. The hardwood floors were all buckled up -- I was afraid that they may be weak and be dangerous to walk on, but they didn't fall through the floor walking around in the house. Maybe I can get the pics some time to put on here so you all can see.

Well that is about all I know to tell you except I kept Olivia again tonight. I fed her supper then was going to give her a bath. Well I ran her water and put her in the sling thing for her bath. Walked away for a second to throw the baby food container away and she was grunting -- I came back and she shit in the bath... All the while Granny is sitting at the bar watching this -- mind you she doesn't get up in all of this!!! So I picked her up turned on the water and sprayed her butt off with the spray thing. then I am holding her with one arm praying she was done and doesn't shit on me -- Okay wipe the tears off from crying it gets better. So I am trying to balance her and rinse the crap off the sling thing and clean out the sink -- Granny is still just watching. She says don't wash it down the sink (runny poop) it will get in the disposal. So I continue to wash it down the drain, because what I am going to do suck it up with a straw or scoop up runny poop!!! Duh!!! So I finished cleaning it all up reran her bath water. Gave her a bath then get her out of the bath and start drying her off. Granny now gets up from the bar goes outside to the laundry room and gets the jug of bleach to was out the garbage disposal!!!! What the f**& you have got to be kidding me!! Carrie, Mom, and Guy had a field day when I told them this story so I hope you all get your laughter for the day when you read my blog -- Sad story in the beginning, funny shit (literally) at the end.

Reassurance......

Well tonight after I got off of work I picked up Mason and mom met me at the daycare with Olivia. Carrie and Guy went to New Orleans to meet contractors about the stores down there. So I had the reassurance that I DO NOT want anymore kids. That was a pain in the butt!!! Feeding and bathing and putting to bed to much.... Well this weekend not to much happened. Carrie, the kids, and I went to our cousin by marriages kids birthday party -- outside... Hotter than you know what. We stayed about an hour and half it sucked -- so we used the excuse that Olivia was just too hot. Saturday night Mason went to spend the night with Scott's parents (he had a blast) Mom watched Olivia and we all went out to eat with Carrie's friend Christy and her husband and two kids. They were pissed that we were childless. We got through most of our dinner when Mom called and couldn't get Olivia to calm down and she was screaming hysterically!! So home we went -- we were going to go out after that for a little bit, but instead we just hung out at Mom's. Originally we were going to me them at Chuck E Cheese so the kids could play == I told Guy why the hell are we going there we don't have any kids. He said we can get drunk and play skee ball. I said okay. I have never ordered beer there, but they sell it. So anyway it was packed so we went to Pie Works a gourmet pizza place. But originally Guy wanted to watch some football game so he said that if it sucked he was going to come down with a stomach ache so we could go home so he could watch football, but then Mom called and he didn't have to fake it. So he tried to pay Mom $10.00 for having us come home -- a joke. Then he told Olivia thanks baby for helping me out. It was funny. So the guys were happy watching sports and we were hanging out on the deck.

Sunday we went and picked up Mason and he told us all about his breakfast, playing basketball with Paw Paw, washing the dishes with Nana and a number of other things that I just didn't understand. We all then went down to the Boardwalk for lunch and some shopping -- nice family outing for Mason, Scott, and me.

Mason picked out his Halloween costume -- spiderman -- didn't know to much about him until Matthew put his costume on while we were there. So he had to put it on when we got home and scare everyone. It was cute -- its the one with built in muscles and it lights up. Well then Carrie got the great idea of letting him look at himself fully costumed in the mirror and he scared the shit out of himself and wanted to take it off!!! So he may or may not got trick or treating again this year. Last year he refused to wear his costume so we stayed home.

Well I have rambled on long enough

The Restel Family Update....

Guy's birthday was fine - he didn't know that we had planned it!!! It was just us, Daddy, and Wanda we had a good time visiting. They are not going to go to Destin as of right now. They are just going to the stores here to work to have something to do, and not feel like they are cheating the company by collecting a check for nothing. Also, they got the $2,000 from FEMA, but anything more than that is a loan that you have to pay the government back just at a lower interest rate. They were giving out food stamps to the evacuees so mom suggested that Carrie go and see about it. She didn't want too! But mom told her if all these people that didn't ever work and don't pay taxes can get them then you should too! So she went today and got some. It is on a month to month basis, but it is enough to save if so they can restock all there pantry and fridge when they do get somewhere if they only get it this month. Olivia is now laughing out a little bit and turning over. She loves to jump! So Carrie went and got her a jumping thing that hangs from the door (like Brayden's) - she had one, but it is "floating" (that is what she says everytime she thinks about something that Olivia or they had that she hadn't thought about thus far). Between the jump thing and Mason's old exercauser she is having a ball playing. A few people have mentioned to mom about throwing them a hurricane shower, but Carrie declines the idea everytime mom says so and so suggested.... they are to proud I guess is what you would call it they don't want to ask people for anything. Olivia came over this morning while Carrie went to the dentist and Scott watched her after I went to work, then when Carrie came to pick up Olivia, she asked if Mason wanted to spend the day with her -- that will be the last time she asks that!!! He is wild these days -- terrible two's have hit and have hit hard in the Remillard household -- kind of delayed reaction at 2 1/2!!! Guy kept asking him how many months until you turn 3? hahaha He has started ignoring you, talking back in some foreign Mason language, and just running around like a crazy person jumping on furniture and crap he knows better than to do!!!! My sweet little boy has turned into a devil!!! He still uses his manners and is sweet and kind as far as loving on people, but WILD is not even the word to explain him!!! I know I know they are all like that, but he is trying to fit a whole year of craziness into the past 2 weeks!!! I spanked him hard today and my hand hurt afterwards -- he was crying Carrie wanted to cry because I spanked him so hard and she was upset so she starts loving on him -- I wanted to spank her then!!! So anyway nothing more her that just DRAMA as usual just a little more fast past that the norm -- since we have a wild child on our hands!! hahaha Well gotta go get ready for bed - Olivia is coming back again in the morning so Carrie can go get some more work done to her mouth. She is having to get a root canal redone, because it never got finished from New Orleans -- she had Skip the Dentist -- she paid for half of it and he skipped town. So talk you all tomorrow AND WILL ALL OF YOU START POSTING PLEASE THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY EVENINGS IS TO READ ALL OF YOUR POST -- MY WINDING DOWN TIME AND LATELY I HAVE NOTHING TO READ!!!!!!

Weekend..

Not a lot happened this weekend, just visited. Daddy and Wanda came over for the day on Saturday and the kids played with them. Then on Sunday we went shopping. First was to Toys R Us and Carrie rebought a lot the things that Olivia had and a new stroller. I liked the stroller so much that I got on too!!! Then we looked at the power wheels stuff to see which one I was going to get Mason for Christmas because his little four wheeler just will not go when he is on it because he weights to much for it now. His feet are to big as well, he has to put them sideways to be able to ride. Poor thing.... So I picked out a power wheels Kawasaki four wheeler he liked it! It says ages 3 and up, but it fits him!!!! haha But by Christmas it will really fit him, because he will be 3 the next month. Carrie and Guy have started working in some of the stores here for something to do. Olivia is coming over in a few minutes because Carrie has a dentist appointment and Guy went to work at 5:30 a.m. to help do the truck. So I better run and finish getting ready for work so I can play with her for a little bit this morning.

Hey everyone -- couldn't think of a title so oh well.. Went over to mom's house to visit with Carrie, Guy, and Olivia tonight after work. Trying to get in all I can while they are here. They are tossing up in the air going to Destin to work for a few months so Carrie can still work in some of her store's and Guy can work at the store in Destin and be the Co-manager for now. Still no news on when they can go back in and see if they can salvage anything. Mrs. Wanda called Carrie to tell her that her friends that are traveling nurses - they are in Washington now - a Doctor that they work with wanted to donate some money but not to just anybody and since they know Carrie he is sending some money to them. I don't know how much, but we thought that was really nice of him. My Granny is driving everyone crazy!!!!! She is getting all bent of shape because people keep calling "on her phone" -- moms phone for Carrie and Guy and why do they get so many phone calls. Carrie's boss calls every night. Carrie's bosses boss called her today, but Granny had the phone turned off so when she found out about it she called him back and he said yeah I was scared that if she answered the phone she would cuss me out -- Bob (Carrie's boss) had already told him about Granny == how embarrassing is that. Guy is calling her the phone natzi. She told on Carrie and Guy to mom last night that they keep turning the air down and freezing her out. The thermostat is on 75 and she is freezing so she turns it up until you suffocate -- Put some more damn clothes on!!!! She is so bizarre. Mason and Scott built a "house" with blocks tonight and Olivia was in Mason's old walker/activity thing exercauser and she walked over to his house and mowed it down. He told her no baby don't knock my house down -- baby make me sad - be nice baby. She started jumping and talking to him and getting excited and so we told her she said she was sorry. She just talks to him when he talks to her -- she gets so excited. Monday is Guy's birthday so we are going to have a little party for him -- just cake and Daddy and Wanda are coming over too. So if anyone wants to come over for the weekend they are welcome too!!!!! Carrie took Olivia to Mason's pediatrician today just so get to know her in case Olivia gets sick or something she will have a pediatrician for the time being. Carrie really liked her and she said Olivia was doing fine and was very strong and will be sitting up soon. She can already balance herself with her hands and sit up. Well gotta run hope you all have a great Friday and weekend.

News...

Well I got my raise yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! What the best part about that was that it hit in the same week that I worked 15 hours of overtime hahaha sorry for them!!!

Mason has been saying some pretty funny stuff lately so I thought I would share it with you all....

Saturday night I was calling him in the bathroom at mom's house to go potty and he didn't come and I kept calling them he was coming in to the bathroom saying something and Carrie was behind him -- she came to see what I was hollering about (Calling Mason loudly) then he repeated what he was saying as he was coming to the bathroom --- What honey? What honey? Carrie and I feel out laughing.

Then on Monday mom asked him a question and he said I guess that will be okay.

Then on Tuesday Carrie said Damn and he repeated it and so I made her have a talk with him about how that was a bad word and she shouldn't have said that.

Olivia was going to bed tonight before we left (we went to dinner with them) and he told said her prayers for her!!! Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, thank you for our food -- I said no Mason we aren't eating you have your prayers mixed up so he started over Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, angels watch me through the night and keep me 'til morning light AAAAmen! Then he gave her a night night kiss and hug. We loves Olivia. To bad he will never have a sibling... hahaha

Well that is my comic relief for the night

Aunt Pam is the camper a R.V. that you can drive or what? Carrie and Guy are trying to find one that they can pull behind there car or that they can drive! They want to take it closer to New Orleans or to New Orleans when they can get back in. So they can begin working again. If you can Carrie's cell is working for the most part now if you want to call her and talk to her about it! Love Me

Angie, Carrie's phone works to call out sometimes and hit and misses the calls in so I will tell her to call Matthew back today. I don't know about the web, but Guy saw them patching the levee by there house and then they panned around behind them last night and it was showing their neighborhood and all you could see was roof tops. I think the gift cards are the best idea. I bought Olivia a few things the other day and Carrie was like she doesn't need anything, but she took it anyway. We don't have a lot of the major department stores here as other areas do, so I don't know if I could go and gift the giftcards or what we should do. We went to the boardwalk yesterday and got Olivia some clothes for this winter about 5 or 6 outfits, Guy some t-shirts and shorts, and Carrie a pair of shorts. Not much but it helped her feelings to get out and shop a little. It was so nice that most of the stores if you showed them your I. D. They would give you a % discount. When we left to go shopping Guy told Carrie to get him some solid color t-shirts and he didn't care if she got them at Walgreens 6/$10.00 he is so crazy. When we went to Brookshires last night to pick up some bread and stuff they had some sleeveless t-shirts we couldn't find a price, but then we did and they were $5 -- to expensive on a tight budget for a joke. Everything is going okay, but they other night mom had mentioned a picture that she had done for Carrie that was left behind and Carrie had forgotten that she left it and just started balling. It was the baby shower invitation with the sugar dress off the cake framed in a shadow box type thing with the fabric in the room as the mat. Also, I just thought about another picture mom had framed it was a picture of Carrie and me on her wedding day with the hankerchief that I gave her on her wedding day with her new name on it and a palm tree. Oh well they are just memories now -- Mom told Carrie that she would get chef to make another dress -- and maybe I can get another hankerchief made too. Well that is all I can think of today Love Beth

Well....

I was over at mom's house visiting with Carrie and her friend tonight -- we had a good time not talking really about what has happened -- Carrie is tired of talking about as anyone would be that this has happened to. Her and Guy came to the conclusion today that at least Olivia is not old enough to know any of this happened. When she is older she may hear that they lost everything when she was a baby, but she really isn't hendered by it now. Which I think is good for them. They finally found the last associate from Guy's store today -- she tried to get out of the city before the hurricane hit, but she couldn't. So her and her two children were trapped there. Since the end of the storm she tried to get out -- got stuck, ran out of gas had to have someone siphon (spelling) gas out of a lawn mower to get her futher down the road -- as she was traveling down through the town she saw that they looted Guy's store -- what you would do with wicker I don't know, but the devastating part is.... That as she was driving she was trying to cover up her children's eyes because there were dead bodies floating in the road. No luckily Olivia never had to see that and is not going to be traumatized for the rest of her life like Felicia's kids and all the other children stuck at the Superdome and Civic Center. Carrie has enough clothing now for Olivia in the size that she is now, but not the larger sizes 6 months +. Carrie and Guy do not have many clothes because normally they have to leave for 3 or 4 days then they go home and everything is fine... So they only have 3 or 4 days worth of clothing on hand. To bad Guy and Scott are no where the same size and Carrie and I aren't either. So I don't know what to do -- I guess if people want to send gift cards to buy clothing or something I don't know -- they are not going to tell me anything, because they think other people are worse off then they are. So give to others or do what you want for them I don't know. My address is
(well they were here, but when I woke up the morning I remembered that anyone can look at this so I deleted that part I will email you the addresses if you need them) -- if you want to do anything if not give to someone that is in worse shape then they are that truly have nothing. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts.. And Matthew I think you are truly the sweetest thing ever. Matthew (my cousin -8) wants to be a billionaire when he grows up so that he can give money to people like Carrie to buy all new stuff when they loose everything. And he is going to build a Mansion in London big enough to hold all of his family if they want to come and live with him. Well that is all for now it is late and I have to work in the morning. Love ya Beth

No topic -- just depressed

I am just still really upset to think about what Carrie and family have had and will have to endure in the next few days, months, even years. I can't believe the people that are in New Orleans still are acting so crazy -- people are trying to help them and they are shooting and killing each other! To think that that is what people everywhere think Louisiana is really about, how could they not that is all they see on tv. Anyway nothing much to talk about -- Carrie and Guy act strong on the outside, but inside they are hurting. Everything that Guy has ever known is gone and his parents are both buried there and they probably will never see there graves again. It is just heart breaking to think about it! I don't know what we can do to help, but I think if we all pull together we can help a tremendous amount. Carrie has contacted the insurance company and Fema today to see what they can do, but it will take up to 14 days to here back from them. Well that is all for today

Love Beth
